Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using ClickKing, a product of Metallicode LTD ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using the service on behalf of an organization, you agree to these terms for that organization.

2. The Service & "Persistent Redirects"

ClickKing provides digital engagement tracking and URL redirection. A core feature of our service is the Persistent Redirect: once a link is created, it is intended to remain functional as a redirect regardless of your subscription status.

To maximise link durability, each short link encodes the destination URL in the URL fragment (the portion after the # character). If our servers or edge infrastructure are temporarily unavailable, a client-side fallback uses this fragment to redirect the visitor to the intended destination. This fallback redirect does not collect any tracking data.

However, Active Tracking (the logging of click data) is a premium service. Data collection will cease once a link exceeds its tier-specific lifespan or your monthly click quota is reached. We do not guarantee the permanent storage of historical data for inactive or expired links.

3. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and API keys. Metallicode LTD cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage from your failure to maintain the security of your account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You may not use ClickKing for any of the following:

• Phishing, spoofing, or creating deceptive redirects.
• Distributing malware, viruses, or harmful code.
• Circulating "spam" or unsolicited bulk messaging.
• Links to illegal content, controlled substances, or unauthorized copyrighted material.

Violation of this policy will result in immediate account termination without a refund and a permanent ban of your associated domains.

5. Payments, Subscriptions & Refunds

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Lemon Squeezy. Lemon Squeezy is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Lemon Squeezy provides customer service inquiries regarding payments and handles returns.

Refunds are provided at the sole discretion of Lemon Squeezy and are handled on a case-by-case basis. Lemon Squeezy reserves the right to issue refunds within 60 days of purchase to prevent chargebacks. For more details, please refer to the Lemon Squeezy Buyer Terms. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

6. Data Retention & Automated Deletion

We apply the following automated data retention schedules in line with the principle of data minimisation under the UK GDPR:

• Expired Short Links: Short links that have passed their tier-specific expiry date are automatically and permanently deleted from our systems 30 days after expiry.
• Security Logs: IP-based rate-limiting and abuse-prevention logs are automatically deleted after 14 days.
• Click Tracking Data: Granular click logs are retained for the duration of your plan's data window. Once the window closes, we reserve the right to aggregate or delete these logs.

These processes run automatically on a daily schedule. It is your responsibility to export your data (via CSV) before the relevant retention period ends if you require long-term records. We are not liable for data lost through scheduled deletion.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, METALLICODE LTD SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and defined at the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in London, UK.

9. Force Majeure

Metallicode LTD shall not be liable for any failure or delay in the performance of its obligations under these Terms if such failure or delay is caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: acts of God, war, insurrection, riots, terrorism, crime, labor shortages (including lawful and unlawful strikes), embargoes, postal disruption, communication disruption, failure or shortage of infrastructure, or shortage of materials.

10. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid under any applicable law, such unenforceability or invalidity shall not render these Terms unenforceable or invalid as a whole. Such provisions shall be deleted without affecting the remaining provisions herein.

11. Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Service (or any part thereof) with or without notice. You agree that Metallicode LTD shall not be liable to you or to any third party for any modification, price change, suspension, or discontinuance of the Service.

12. Entire Agreement

These Terms, including any legal notices and disclaimers contained on this Website, constitute the entire agreement between Metallicode LTD and you in relation to your use of this Website, and supersede all prior agreements and understandings with respect to the same.
